Candy
Morgana had given Carth a piece of candy one day and he had pulled her hair; when he got home with the candy stuffed up his nose, clothes dirty, and his hair in disarray, his mother had just laughed and asked him why little boys had to show their affection in such silly ways.

Forest
He ran for his life through the forest near his home, little feet crunching on snow; Morgana was going to kill him for that last perfectly formed, perfectly aimed snowball that had slid down the back of her shirt.

Summer
It seemed a particularly well-suited occasion, a lazy summer day, to realize that Morgana was summer to his winter.

Envelope
Covered and covering, it was a great deal more than that.

Cold
In his sleep, he often stuck his frozen feet on Morgana's leg and promptly got smacked over the head with a pillow for it.

Family
Dustil's first cry banished anything tainted and his tiny, perfect fingers denied all evil in the world.

Rose
On some planets, roses were the traditional romantic flowers to give a lover; on Telos, it was hand picked wildflowers--and so it came to be that there wasn't a wildflower for kilometers around the Onasi household.

Chocolate
He was never, ever giving Dustil choca again; the boy was bipping, that was the only word he could think of to describe his son's willy-nilly running and bouncing off walls.

Vapor
Carth had found an old aircraft that left contrails, and flying it he laughed for the joy of it all.

Balloon
He felt silly buying Morgana a balloon at a carnival when he got one for Dustil; they weren't children anymore, but sometimes it felt good to pretend.

Belief
The Force was not something Carth actively believed in; he knew it was there, but it didn't affect him...or so he thought.

Linger
What he wanted, when he left, was to stay, dead next to her.

Ways and Means
He would find a way, and the means didn't matter because he wouldn't live much longer than Saul anyway.

Need
He was broken, he was empty, yet he did not recognize it.

Vine
Carth didn't realize until it had nearly choked him to death what a danger planting the seed of revenge had been.

Bribe
The first day after Bastila and her Jedi had taken over the Endar Spire, Carth wondered if he had enough favors owed him to get off the damn ship.

Photograph
There was a holo in the pocket of his flight jacket, of his family, but it had shattered on impact with Taris.

Speak
What was so special about her, outside of being so damned persistent, that he was willing to tell her things he hadn't said to anyone?

Rope
Carth marveled at the ropes holding up the platform they were using to get to the Shadowlands; Wookiees were amazing crafts-sentients when it came to using the plant life of their home, he just hoped those kilometers of rope didn't decide to snap right now.

Tea
He'd always preferred caffa, but whatever it was Jolee and Zaalbar made with those leaves from Kashyyyk, Carth could live with that.

Vanilla
He could live with Jolee and Zaalbar's whatever drink, but this stuff they claimed was vanilla ice cream tasted more like grass.

Drunk
Trying to drink a Mandalorian under the table was stupid; he knew it, but why did every female Jedi on board feel the need to remind him?

Shine
Sometimes he wondered how Jedi could see past the distracting glow of their lightsabers enough to fight; he supposed that was just one of the many reasons non-Force users should keep their hands off the weapons.

Memory
Shortly after he told her that he was forgetting his wife's face, when he was alone, he had cried for the first time in years.

Wind
Carth didn't like to admit it, but some planets he really hated; Tatooine, for instance, was ruining his armor by sandblasting it.

Remain
He often wondered why, after Telos, he stayed on this side of the last door.

Error
On particularly bleak days, Carth wondered if he had done even one thing right.

Perfect
Nothing he had witnessed was perfect except for his memory of things he wished to forget.

Smoke
He tried to smother a cough; there wasn't much use for following her as her 'slave' on Korriban if he was too busy hacking on the ash-filled atmosphere.

Grieve
Finding Dustil alive had eased that black mass far more than he realized at the time.

Medicine
He thought there had to be something else in the galaxy better than kolto, if only to spite those arbitrary, hopelessly deluded Selkath.

Spoon
Another thing to dislike about Manaan: no one had heard of decent, logical flatware.

Gloves
Carth hated gloves; his fingers were just a hair too long for any of them to fit properly.

Mirror
He only caught a glance of himself in the 'fresher mirror, but it was enough to make it obvious that he needed to spend a little more time grooming before his goatee took over his face...

Venom
She said he was Light to her; he wondered how that could be--did the Force ignore those who lived on hate if they were not Jedi?

Two
One to love, he thought, was more than he deserved; but the Force had willed there be two, and for all the pain that lead to it, he could not say he was anything less than deliriously happy for a second chance.

Crossroads
Standing over Saul, no weapon but his own hands, he fought himself more fiercely than he fought Karath.

Appetite
Carth hungered for blood, but found he had no appetite for it.

Refrain
Listening to Saul as he took his last breaths rather than snap his neck was one of the hardest things he had done in his life.

Coup de foudre
Life had taught him to expect the unexpected, and he thought he'd gotten pretty good at it...but he didn't think anyone, in his place, would have been prepared for that.

Fate
He was deep in a brood, wondering if the Force just liked toying with him.

Illuminance
And then it clicked--Darth Revan is no more.

Moth
It took him days to realize he hadn't burned in Revan's fire after he found out that's who she was.

Mask
It had been her all along behind that bloodstone mask...figures it would take an ex-Sith Lord to get under his skin.

Ornament
From the Star Forge the star hung like a pendant; he wondered for an instant if the star would fall when the Forge did.

Touch
What he wanted to do was run over the sand and kiss her senseless, but found he could not even move; when had he developed such a strange aversion?

Butterfly
The theories of chaos or the Force, he didn't know, but they had become the hurricane that would make the insect flap its wings on Alderaan--unless hurricanes could be like insect wings.

Pulse
It was darkness just beyond his senses, a depth of Darkness that lived, and he hated walking through its passageways.

Archway
Carth shot at the door and the arch above it, hacked at it with his vibroswords, and even tried stealing Jolee's Jade Shield, but the Forge would not allow him to pass.

Fresh
It was done, all was over; time to start anew and he looked forward to it.
