Melinda pushed and pushed but still the baby didn't come. The man she calls husband stood there next to the doctor while trying to deliver this unusual baby. The final push came and a gold colored egg came out. The gold dragon Brood (Humans with the ability to turn into powerful dragons) looked at the egg as the doctor wrapped it in a blanket. Melinda looked up at her unusual husband as the egg started cracking. A baby gold dragon whelp started crying and calling for its mother. Melinda looked at it with teary eyes as she called his name...

25 YEARS LATER...

Cid sat around the Shinra Flight Academy and stared at his DNA scanner Deflector bracelet given to him by an unknown man when he was young. He knew he was different but couldn't place his finger on the reason. Cid looked over at the young woman admiring his bulging biceps and looking at him like he was in SOLDIER. Cid looked back at his book but kept his eye on the young lady. The teacher tapped her pointer at the chalkboard where they were discussing the principal of the Spedometer of the airship. Cid paid attention until something touched his foot. He picked up a note and read it. It was from Shera and it was something like rant mail. Cid crumpled it and when the teacher wasn't looking, he pelted a junior pilot in the head. The class filled with snickers.
"I don't see anything funny with the use of a Spedometer." She said.
"Someone pelted me in the head with this note." The junior pilot cried out from his seat.
"Stop whining, you were tossing it up and down, up and down!" Cid said.
"Be silent, Cid."
Just then the sky grew dark and everyone ran to the window. A gold dragon circled the area, screaming Cid's name. Cid felt compelled to call back but he felt a pain in his back that won't go away. He ran outside and screamed like a banchee. The dragon swooped down and picked Cid up with it's claws...

9 YEARS LATER...

Cloud and Tifa went to Cid's house with their new baby, Linda Strife. Cloud knocked on the door and Shera answered it. She looked like an egg with her pregnant baby.
"I'm afraid you're too late, Mr and Mrs. Strife. The Captain went out for his daily flight."
"Cid's got a new jet? Cool, we'd like to see it when he gets home." Tifa said.
"No, no, no...Not a new jet."
"A new airship?"
"No."
"He found the Tiny Bronco!" Cloud said.
"No, no, no! He's out on his daily flight."
"You said that but..."
A shadow flew overhead and landed next to the house. Shera started fixing tea.
"Well, if you want to stay for tea, feel free."
Cid walked in and all of a sudden he had red eyes, a gold tail and gold dragon's wings! Cloud and Tifa stood there staring like a deer in headlights. Cid tucked in his tail and wings under his flight jacket and sat down in the chair specially made for him.
"Cid, is...is...is that an effect after....Me....Me...me...Meteor?"
"No, I am Brood."
"Brood?" Tifa asked.
"Yes, I'll explain over tea."

A WEEK LATER...

Shera pushed and pushed but the baby will not come out. The doctor felt something oval and hard but he couldn't tell if it was the baby's head. The doctor pulled out the knife, getting ready for the C Section. Just then a gold colored egg came out like natural and Shera passed out. Cid stared at the egg as it started to hatch. A gold dragon whelp started crying. The doctor was totally shocked. Cid picked up the whelp and cradled it in his arms as it started sucking it's thumb. Just then, gold dragon wings and a tail popped out and the doctor himself passed out.
